This was fun… Brian Auer over at the Epic Edits Weblog has a photography project going on where he makes one of his photos available and others then edit it and post their results.
I stumbled upon this by Phil Price and his blog entry on it. So… here was my stab at it.

The original, copyright Brian Auer.
I use Adobe LightRoom for all of my photo editing, so here were my edits.

Nice work on this — I’m finding it really interesting how different all of the entries are. While there are similarities between a few of them in some aspects, no two are close enough to be mistaken for twins.

That’s an interesting idea, I might have to think about making a full sized version of a photo available for others to edit, it would be a fun way to see what I might be overlooking.
Good work on your’s!

Hi Kevin, I’m one of the fellow photographers who entered Brian’s Edit my Photo project.
I selected your entry as one of my three favourites and thought you might like to know what I said about it.
Here’s what I said about your photo in my post to Brian’s blog:
“I love the exposure on this one. It draws the viewer’s attention squarely to the bird as the subject. I also absolutely love the pale blue tones throughout the image, which give it a dream-like feel. My only issue with the photo is the buoy right at the edge of the crop. This is a jarring distraction and really hurts the composition. I would have either cropped to keep it out of shot, further into the shot, or cloned it out all together.”
Good luck!

Thanks Neil!
I had thought about that damned buoy! I KNEW I should have cloned that thing out of there!
Appreciate the feedback!
